overall appearance:
Kianna is a petite 5’5, pear shaped young woman of Fire Nation and Northern Water Tribe nationality. It’s usually free around her face; reminiscent of a lion’s mane but sometimes gets tied up into a fire nation top knot when she’s concentrating hard. Her mixed heritage is revealed in her deep blue eyes that encase her pupils and she has a dark olive complexion. Her sharp Fire Nation cheek bones and chin contrast with her large almond eyes and the slightly upturned, button nose inherited from her mother. Usually she’ll be found in dark pants, a short sleeved, dark blue tunic; cut out shoulders and with dark red trim. Her dark brown boots stop mid thigh and she wears fingerless gloves; the left glove has the word ‘family’ stitched into it on the wrist area.

::what I'm thinking
likes:tea, reading, debating, exploring, doing what she wants when she wants, her mother’s special sea squid soup, being outside
dislikes:waking up early, being looked down upon, making assumptions without facts, rude/impolite people, losing her page in a book, being helpless/useless.
sexuality: heterosexual
overall personality:
Kianna is a compassionate and fiercely loyal person to anyone she shares a bond with, whether that be her family or a complete stranger. She is quick witted, feisty and extremely curious, causing her to want to know and learn absolutely everything about absolutely anything. Most of the time she is cheerful and optimistic, often cracking a joke and likes to see people happy.
But Kianna can quickly become a completely different person as her emotions and foul temper can easily get the better of her. Reasonable arguments will be futile against her and her determined and headstrong attitude will hardly ever let up and shall chew up and spit out any logical thought in its path. Her decision making is ultimately ruled by her intuition and if it feels right, she’ll place her trust in her gut higher than anything else. As friendly and open as she can be, it’s also in her nature to be instantly skeptical and suspicious if her instincts alert her that something is off.
Due to the endless supply of knowledge she seeks, the young woman is highly opinionated about everything and if asked a question, her answers are completely truthful. But her ‘glass is half full’ attitude will always try to put a positive spin on it.
::a past to remember
A young Haruto Aoki left the Fire Nation army, eager to travel the world and seek adventure. He fell head over heels in love with a Northern Water tribe girl called Keeva and after some persuasion, she reciprocated his feelings. They married and began their new life together.
Whist travelling in the Fire Nation, they were cornered by a group of thieves. Haruto, trying to protect Keeva, hacked viciously at the group with his fire bending but in his rage accidently burnt his wife leaving a long deep scar along her forearm. After this, Haruto made the decision to never bend again.
When two out of three of their children showed bending abilities, he was more than concerned. At the first signs of Rokuro and Kianna’s bending he belittled it; scared that they might lose control of their elements like he did, hoping that it would discourage them from wanting to learn anymore.
Kianna’s brother Rokuro, the fire bender, always strived to be exactly what their father wanted. He was obedient, never outspoken and constantly looking for praise from their father who was especially harsh on him because of their shared bending ability.
Kianna was the complete opposite of her quiet introverted brother. From a young age, she was always questioning authority and keen to learn more than her father would allow her. Rokuro was allowed to learn basic forms and Kianna was taught to heal with her water bending. Because of this, there was a constant idea that Kianna was only there to “heal” and clean up after her fire bending brother. Instead of succumbing to the thought, this only made Kianna’s stubborn attitude more determined to prove her that she was more than just a healer. Their mother, taking pity on them, started to secretly provide them with resources to practice with. Both of them excelled and relished at the education, but Kianna couldn’t help but feel like there was more for her to learn.
One night, she nonchalantly brought up the idea of her and Rokuro venturing away from their Earth Kingdom abode to spend some time in Republic City with their older brother Takeo and maybe, spend some time exploring their abilities. Her father quickly stated that there was nothing there for either of them, considering didn’t have any abilities to expand. Before Kianna could retort, Rokuro cut across her stating that their father didn’t have any idea of what they were capable of. A fight ensued and Rokuro left in a huff for Republic City. A few days later Kianna followed, determined to find her brother and start doing some proper water bending training.
