overall appearance:
Rud stands at 5'11'' and 175 lbs. His active lifestyle allows him to keep a tone frame without ever putting on TOO much muscle. His pale skin has very few scars and the scars that are visible while fully clothed are minimal at best. His lower right abdominal area has been blackened by a nasty 3rd degree burn from a fire bender when he was just a boy but Rud keeps this well hidden with nearly any shirt he chooses to wear. Not one for the fashions of Republic City, Rud cut his long black hair significantly upon arrival and now keeps it just long enough to run his fingers through. He has hazel colored eyes and slightly bushy eyebrows. Rud usually wears very light colored; thin clothes to compensate for the temperature change from the North Pole to Republic City. A usual outfit consists of a pair of black slacks, a white buttoned up shirt, usually with the top button or two left undone, a light blue tie and a black jacket.

overall personality:
Though he is portrayed as fairly unintelligent, he shows an aptitude for battle and street smarts that seem well-suited to his underdog status at the Pro-Bending Arena. However, he is mouthy and disrespectful and has a penchant for making enemies. He loves bending and dreams of being the strongest water bender in the world by fighting his way to the top. When Rud fights he's quite brutal and will continue to hurt his opponent even if they're already knocked out. Rud does show compassion towards those he considers his friends, however, and will go to great lengths to keep them safe and happy. He states he has no desire to fight to protect anyone and only fights so he can be the strongest though he seems to have ulterior motives.

Rud was the youngest child and only son born to a middle class Republic City family. His mother had been a well known healer, while his father had been a mediocre pro-bender. He lived a generally comfortable life until his father transferred bending teams and gained popularity, seemingly over night. The team wore masks supposedly to "hide their identifies" but it was really just for more publicity. He was known as Ma "The Leviathan" Han; a name given based on his water bending prowess that he boasted was granted from the feared water spirit Leviathan. Rud remembers little from this time, except for moving into a bigger home in a better part of town. He remembers his father and mother arguing quite frequently, though at only five years old he could not remember exactly what the arguments were about.
As it were, Ma Han’s team captain had gotten involved in a gambling scandal with the Ag Ni Kai gang. He had convinced the Earth Bending member of the team to join in; purposefully throwing several matches for profit. Ma refused to join in on this scandal and eventually began winning several matches single handed in opposition. This didn't last long before his team tried to injure Ma in order to rid him from the team and ended up murdering the water bender in the process. It was considered a training accident and his murderous team mates were never brought to justice.
With only what they had saved up and no way to continue living in the expensive Republic City Rud's mother packed up the family and moved back to her home in the Northern Water Tribe.
It was here that Rud would eventually learn that he was the only water bender born to the two water bending masters. His mother would push him hard to master his element, though she unconsciously focused more on his healing lessons than anything else thus making Rud a pretty decent healer(a skill he hides from his pro bending friends out of embarrassment). It wasn't until Rud reached adolescence that he noticed the resentment fostering in a few of his older siblings for his gift.
Not wanting to cause a rift in his family, Rud chose to run away from home at 17 years old; returning after some travel and time in the Earth and Fire nations to Republic City. During his travels Rud had learned how to fashion his bending into a more aggressive fashion and upon his return to his home city joined an up and coming pro bending team. Rud would dawn his fathers old mask, repainted to match his teams uniform, and took on his fathers name...The Leviathan. The water bender would find that a few players refused to attack him based slowly on not knowing whether or not he was the original Leviathan.
2 years later and Rud was well known, in the area at least. And enjoys a quiet life in Republic City during his down time; moving around the city unbeknownst to his fans.
