Xin Chow Wei
name: Xin
gender: Male
age: 25
element: Earth
animal companion:
Xin raised his small Shirshu from a young age when he and his brother Han found it lost and confused in the city. It was one of their many misadventures growing up and getting into trouble and one of the few that Xin dragged Han into rather than the other way around. The two broke into the building where authorities had captured the feral animal and had locked it up to keep it away from the public. Once freeing it they managed to escape authorities and bring the animal to the outskirts of the town. There they began to train and raise the Shirshu slowly realizing what a great boon the animal companion was.
The shirshu is a large star-nosed mole-like creature that does not have eyes, but its inability to see is made up for by its remarkably keen sense of smell. The animal's face is dominated by a large snout that ends in a collection of small pink fleshy tentacles surrounding the nostrils, which are used to detect scents in the environment and effectively "see" its surroundings. The shirshu can smell a particular scent over hundreds of miles away, making it a superb tracker. In addition to its amazing smelling abilities, the shirshu's whip-like tongue contains paralyzing toxins. Depending on an animal's size and how hard one is hit, the shirshu's tongue can stun or paralyze prey from minutes to hours. - excerpt from avatar wiki

hair color: Ebony
eye color: Ebony
skin color: Light tan
overall appearance:
Xin makes the first impression of a silent ominous figure. A bit taller than the average man with broad shoulders and stony features to his face. He has long ebony hair that lays flat but he pulls back over his shoulders to keep out of his face. He rarely smiles and his cold black eyes seem to be farm more important than his still lips as they observe far more in a short expanse of time than he will say in a given day. He cares little for his personal looks and hygiene often to be seen with dirt and scratches on his face from his earth bending training.
Xin cares little more for clothes than he does about the rest of his own personal appearance but still he makes an effort to dress somewhat appropriately for where he is by mimicking styles of his brother Han when he must differ from the norm. Normally however, he where's sleeveless vests unbuttoned over a thick undershirt that clings to his frame. He wears tattered brown shorts that are tight at the waist but loose in the actual leggings to allow free movement form in all aspects of his earth bending and running. No shoes.

overall personality:
Loyalty is a strong and unshakable personality all it's own sometimes. Xin is predominantly rules by this aspect loyal to his brother and following him and his cause without question. While not the eagerest of sorts to join a fight, should his brother get caught up in something Xin will undoubtedly follow and root himself deep in the thick of conflict beside his brother. Outside of this loyal and protective persona xin himself is more of the solitary type. He is slow to anger and slower to words it seems preferring to avoid much of the chaos the world has brought upon itself. Rather an opposite to Han's eagerness to get involved, but Xin's foundation is built upon Han's drive and determination so he follows willingly.
Although he is slow to engage in social events and fighting when Xin is brought into such an occurrence he will at first find himself with a sickening sense of superiority. However if someone rises to meet his high expectations of the people around him, he takes delight in the competition of a rival in any event. From social conversation to combat, he was always competitive and always will be.
::a past to remember[/font]
Born in the fire country to loving but ordinary and often busy parents. Xin soon found himself growing attached to his brother as a role model, idealizing him for always being around and following him about almost annoyingly. The two lived in a poorer area of the fire country and as such there was less law enforcement and far more opportunity for mischievous criminal activity between the two. They never meant to cause harm and truth be told were more two jokers that just got on everyone's nerves, or at least at first. Han began to develop martial arts on some of their escapades and like most of what Han did Xin soon found himself imitating with though he was a slower lower and had more difficulty than his naturally talented brother. Still Xin didn't mind that Han was better, on the contrary he found himself filled more and more with pride that his idol was of course so naturally talented in all things that seemed 'cool.' For a few years Xin walked proudly in his brother's shadow until he he discovered his own natural gift that didn't seem to belong at all. Xin... was a bender! Not only did he possess a natural affinity for elemental manipulation it seemed he had the rarity of being an earth bender in the fire nation!
As the pair grew up Xin began to form his own personality more and more as well as his own abilities. While his brother became stronger and stronger and hand to hand combat Xin began training his earth bending styles more and more. On one occasion Xin convinced his brother to help him break into a book/scroll store where he lifted earth bending scrolls. The scrolls were cheap at best but he used what little information he had and began to develop proper stances with which earth bending was made even stronger and learning the core strength of the style. Stubbornness. It seemed the more stubborn you were and more self will you had the strong one's earth bending became. But Xin had never been driven or strong willed for much of anything, it was always his brother he was following about!
Xin continued to follow his brother and eventually found where his true stubbornness lied. It was his unflinching loyalty in the face of anything. Han was being kicked out of their home and while Xin had the option of staying and straightening up as a young individual, he too abandoned all he knew following after Han without question. The two traveled the world as nomads before Han found himself a mentor to teach him far superior martial arts than the street fighting styles the brothers had learned. This was all well and fine for Han, but Xin himself grew restless in the large city and soon found himself getting into troubles with a few local authorities as well as criminals as he refused to back down from any challenge. A few earth bending masters saw his talent and offered to train him but Xin would have nothing to do with them sending them away stubbornly refusing to let any of them mentor him just because they saw the talent he possessed.
Eventually Xin left the city and his brother for some time though not wandering too far from the city itself where he found and oddity. A strange old man living in a cave and wearing... sunglasses with seven lenses and a sun hat. Curiosity got the better of Xin and he found himself staying with the old man in the cave enjoying his constant insane ramblings. Eventually Xin's deeds in Republic city caught up with him as authorities came to seize him, but even as he prepared to defend himself the old man flatly denied that they would take his company away. In a great show of earth bending like Xin had never seen, the old man repelled the armed men as well as their trained military grade benders with ease before laughing at uncontrollably. Xin had found his master. Yi the Exile.
Han often visited Xin outside of Republic city and Xin often traveled to town to visit Han. The two sparred frequently often impressed at the impressive strides they were both making towards their art forms. Eventually Han decided enough was enough and it was time to return to the world. After one last supper with Yi the Exile, Xin called upon his trusty companion Katsu and together the brothers made their way back to civilization. It was time to show the world that the Brothers Wei were coming to play.
