"Kazu Ito." Kazu Ito...
To Kenzin's ears, It sounded very similar. He could not distinguish if he has heard of his name, or actually met him. There might be a possibility Kenzin has seen him through gatherings of the Order of the White Lotus. The used to be secret society has gotten a little more publicity, which has made the order larger in numbers. He does not know all of the names in the society, and probably never will, but there might be good chance, if Kazu was in the order, they have met. "I might have met him before, but I am getting too old to remember such things." A small laugh followed the comment.
"So do you work in Republic City?" Kenzin initially thought asking that question would be rude, but Chase does not have to answer specifically if he was uncomfortable. He certainly looked old enough to live alone and hold a job. Soon after the food arrived for the both of them. Kenzin began to pluck around with his food before he began to eat it. "So I am assuming your pretty good at firebending, being trained by Kazu Ito, correct?" said Kenzin, taking his first bite of meat.

Chase laughed a little at his comment. Old people loved to say that. He wondered if it was just an excuse they used when they were too lazy to think about the question. But hey, they were old enough to have earned it. "You probably have, all you old people know each other." he said jokingly, but there was some truth behind his joke. It seemed like anywhere him an his master went, someone knew him. And they were always old as well. He knew he was part of a club for older men, but never really asked about it. He didn't have interest in things like clubs. Maybe when he got older and was bored something like that would appeal to him, but for now, it didn't seem like something he would want to be a part of.
"I do odd jobs here and there. Nothing solid, though. Not really what I'm looking for right now." he was looking for jobs with no commitment, just do the work and get paid the same day. He didn't want people relying on him, expecting him to do things at certain times. If he didn't want to work, he didn't have to for a couple of days. It was up to him, and that's the way he wanted it. The food arrived and he put Zala's food in front of her, the feline digging in right away. "I've been training since I was six." he didn't want to sound conceded, but he was definitely above average in his bending skills. "I'm good, I guess. Though I can't produce lightning to save my life." he mumbled the last part, taking a bite of his food, letting out a small disappointed sigh, not loud enough for Kenzin to hear.

Kenzin laughed noisily from the comment of the firebender, almost to a point where it was obnoxious and disrespectful. There was fact to what Chase said, all old people knew each other. From a young age, Kenzin knew about the Order of the White Lotus and was always fascinated in it. His father was a member of the great society, which made his son wanted to be a part of as well. Kenzin took another bite of his meat, immediately after, slurped the hot noodles for the first time at dinner. "I see, so no full-time job. Just some tasks, possibly a pick up, etc." Around the ever-growing Republic City, there are many one-time jobs. He sees countless people doing them everyday. There was no surprise about Chase's job situation.
Kenzin began to have another bite in to his dinner. Chewing, he heard a sudden comment coming from his new mate. He swallowed his food quickly, to allow him to reply. "Lighting? Well I see you and your master has attempted but not succeeded?" Kenzin was interested on what Chase had to say about his abilities to bend lighting. "Lighting is a very hard to execute. Only a few of my students have been able to produce it. It not executed properly, many people can get hurt.
