animal companion: Wolf Horse. She found him as a cub in his little in the tundra near the Northern Water Tribe's borders. Nanook is his name. He is large and ridable. His shoulder is about as high as Akina when she is standing. He has silky long fur and is grey, black, and has flecks of light blue.

She is young and athletic. She is not all that tall but has long legs. She tops out at 5'4 and is well trained in self defense. She doesn't look that muscular, but rather is thin built. She tends to look weak, but actually she is a kick butt fighter. Her hair falls in waves down to the top of her butt. She has a square jawline and a small face. She always wears a light blue moonstone that her grandmother gave her when she turned 16 and finished her water bending training along with a tooth around her neck from her Wolf Horse pet when it was teething as a cub. Her left arm sports a brown leather brace that protects an injury she sustained as a ten year old child(Broken Wrist that healed badly). She almost always has some type of war paint or body paint on her. She loves to be artistic and paint cool designs on skin.

She is the kind of person that people expect to be weak and shy. She's the exact opposite. She loves to talk and is an extremely experienced water bender. She know good self defense also. She is a bit on the edge and wild. She will try pretty much anything. Unfortunately she has a good habit of having her heart broken by guys. She tends to fall for men that a couple years older than her to try to match the maturity level. She loves to wrestle, hunt, fish, and take long trips. She is very strong willed and it is difficult to talk her out of stuff when she sets her mind to it. Sometimes she tends to get ahead of herself.

There in the water tribe was where Karina was born. Her mother, Kataka, was born and raised in the Southern Water tribe. She was a healer in her own village and never planned on marrying. One day a messenger from the Northern water tribe arrived and told the village leader that they were desperately in need of more healers. She traveled to the Northern water tribe where she met a handsome, tall, blonde man. He was a guard at the gates of the city. She fell head over heels for him and became pregnant and soon married him. That was when Akina was born. She was a weak baby, but the village healers and her mother made her stonger day by day.
At three years of age, Akina discovered her ability to bend. She was a strong bender from the start and bended with force rather that grace. Her mother and father decided that the best way for her to learn her bending in the best way would be for her very own grandmother to teach her. When her grandmother arrived from the Southern Tribe she began to teach Akina the ways of a bender. She was very talented with her bending. She didn't carry the grace that a normal water bender would have though. After she turned ten, her family decided the best thing that they could do would be to let her talk with Katara. They visited her when she turned thirteen. No body knows what exactly Katara taught Akina in the time that they were together, but it brought grace to her bending. She continued to train and become one of the best benders in the Northern Watertribe.
When she turned fourteen she became one of the head guards of the Northern Watertribe. She stood by her father's side and guarded the city from any expansion of the equalists or gangs. She became an extremely skilled fighter and soon was brought into the Northern Tribe task police, even so young. She loved working with the others, but soon found her life heading in another direction.
At sixteen she kissed her mother, father, and grandmother goodbye and headed for Republic City. She took her Wolf horse, Nunook, on the train with her. Upon arrival she was shocked slightly by the technological advancements the city had over the Southern and Northern Water Tribes. Unfortunately her first experience in Republic City wasn't great; it was a nightmare. Akina was electrocuted by a fire bender that belonged to one of the gangs. She was knocked unconscious and almost killed. Since she has sworn herself to fight against the gangs that rage through the streets of the city and became skilled in self defense. She soon discovered that she was in love with Pro Bending! She is a hard core fan, and is a fan of the Wolfbats. She hates how they play unfair, but she has a secret crush a Tahno. She hopes to eventually get onto a Pro Bending team and then becoming part of the Republic City Police Force.
