Today had been an excellent day, if Zian did say so himself. He started the day off with some studying, then took Bao, his family's sky bison, out for a nice fly. It was a little warm, the humidity making it seem hotter then it actually was, but Zian loved the heat. He disliked the colder months, and never had any complaints when the weather was warm. A lot of people complained about today's heat, but Zian found it quite relaxing. It was nice with the perfect weather for flying, the breeze providing a nice cool off, but not too much. It really was perfect. After their lengthy flight, Zian took a long while to brush and care for the bison, making sure there were no knots in his thick fur, or gunk in his feet. After that lengthy process was finished, he headed off to the courtyard for some meditating.
Sitting near the fountain, Zian crossed his legs and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, concentrating on, well, nothing. Sometimes he found it a little hard with all the thoughts that always raced through his head, but had grown pretty good at pushing the racing thoughts from his mind throughout the years of training. He didn't really know how long he meditated for, but when he opened his eyes again, it was dark, the stars shining brightly, the moon almost full. It was a beautiful night, the air nice and warm, a slight cool breeze washing up from the water. Stretching his muscles, Zian stood up, making his way back into the temple, when he ran into a fellow acolyte. Very literally ran into him. "Jian, oh I'm sorry, I didn't see you there!" he caught his balance. "Wasn't paying attention again." he said with a small laugh.

Why exactly did today feel the need to be so warm today? Not that Jian minded that so much, but weather like this did make him wish that the acolyte robes were cooler. Or that there was at least a little bit of wind. Flying around on a sky bison had sounded pretty nice, but Jian instead opted to ditch the island for a bit and hang around the park in Republic City in more casual clothes; occasionally walking around in the city itself. And not to completely make it seem like all he'd done was slack that day, he did some meditating near the lake in the park. It definitely helped keep his mind off the weather and made him wonder why he hadn't done so sooner.
Eventually he did have to return to the island, when it started to get dark out. Something he did after first purchasing a snack for Nan. He thought his polar dog deserved for putting up with him for the day. Then again, giving the polar dog a treat was something he did on a daily basis, whether he really deserved it or not.
Back on the island, he just wandered around a bit, not really ready to call it a day just yet. He still felt so full of energy, though Nan seemed to beg to differ and he left the tuckered out polar dog in his room before wandering around, not entirely sure just where he was going, but always having a faint idea due to the sound, scent and feel of his surroundings, and just plain memorization of where everything was located. Though apparently he wasn't listening well enough if he allowed himself to literally get run over by someone, falling to the ground. He was dazed for all but a second before laughing a little himself when he heard the familiar voice of Zian.
"Oh, no that's quite all right, heh. Didn't see you there either so I guess it's even." He joked as he pushed himself off the ground and back onto his feet. "Where are you off to in such a hurry, though? Something happening that I'm not aware of?" He asked, looking in the general direction of the acolyte and tilting his head a little to the side.

Zian felt really bad that he had made the other air acolyte fall down, assisting him in getting up as he pushed off the ground. He laughed at the other's joke. It was good that he could joke about his blindness, it really proved that it wasn't holding him back that much. Zian didn't think and differently of him because he was blind, and it wasn't really that noticeable. "I'm in no hurry. Just finished meditating, so I'm all full of energy." he explained with a small laugh. He always got so much energy built up after meditating, he could never do it for too long. It made him so restless, not moving for so long. But over the years he had learned to go longer and longer, sitting there with an empty mind, not moving at all. When he was younger, he could barely sit still for minutes, yet alone the hours that some of the other acolytes spend. The most Zian could do was maybe two hours, but that was only once.
"I was actually going to get something to eat, were you hungry?" he asked the other, his stomach giving a slight growl at the mention of food. He had forgotten to eat today, something he did often being caught up in the day's activities. His hunger queues usually didn't kick in until later on in the evening, which is what it was now. And he was starving. He really hoped that his friend would join him, he hadn't had a chance to catch up with him for a while, and was curious to know what he had been up to. Zian hadn't really done anything exiting, but loved hearing about other people's adventures.

"Aaah," he replied in return, "I can totally relate." Meditating wasn't that much of a problem for him, though he would much rather move around than sit motionless for hours on end. It was safe to say that his first few attempts at meditating weren't particularly successful. He was still learning, though. He'd get there eventually.
The mention of food instantly got all his attention. "You bet I'm hungry. The only one that really got to eat today was Nan and that's not really fair now is it?" Well, he had also gotten himself a snack after he bought Nan's, but that hardly counted! He spent more money on Nan's snack than his own and what he had eaten hardly counted. "Let's go!" he cheered, pumping a fist up in the air and started walking when, "...if you'd be so kind to lead the way? To be honest I'm not entirely sure what part of the island I wandered to." He confessed sheepishly. Besides, was it really a good idea to let the blind lead the seeing? In this case not really.
Besides, even if food wasn't involved it was always fun to talk to someone. He always had Nan, but actual human interaction was always appreciated and hey, it's been a while since Zian and him spoke.

Zian was happy to hear that he was not the only one. For some it just came so naturally, but he always found it so hard to achieve the sense of inner peace and relaxation his teachers always told him about. It was probably easier for the older ones as well, with their generally lower energy levels then younger folk.
Zian let out a small laugh, "I guess now it's my turn to relate. I forgot to eat today as well. I just forget sometimes, though. My hunger queues aren't that strong so I skip meals by accident a lot." he said, turning around to walk to the kitchens, stopping and turning around, coming to the realization that he may need help as soon as he asked for it. He felt a little bad that he didn't offer, but tried not to beat himself up over it. He just forgot, nothing he could really help. "Yes, of course!" he told the other, putting his hand on his shoulder, guiding them down the hallway. "And we're just by the courtyard if that helps you find your bearings at all. The temple entrance is just behind us a little." he told Jian, hoping that he would appreciate the information, or at least find it useful. He knew that if he was in that situation, he would want to be told where he was.
He led them into the kitchen and led them to a table. "Wait here." he asked him, darting off to grab them food. Balancing their plates over, he set them down, taking his seat next to his friend. "So what's been new? It feels like we haven't talked in a while." he asked, then took a bite from his salad.
