Daiyu Luó
name: Daiyu Luó
gender: Female
age: 19
element: Fire
animal companion: N/A
::looking pretty good
hair color: Black
eye color: Amber
skin color: Pale
overall appearance: Daiyu's appearance is unmistakably Fire Nation - she has long, ink black hair that she usually keeps either partially or completely pulled back and away from her face. Her eyes are slender, somewhat close-set, and a pale amber color, while her brows are dark and expressive. She has a somewhat pointed face with high, defined cheekbones and (much to her chagrin) thin lips. Her complexion is her pride and joy as far as appearances go; her skin is pale and smooth, with few visible markings. She is by no means an extraordinary beauty, but instead has a classical elegance to her appearance.
At just over five foot seven inches, Daiyu is slightly taller than average, with a feminine, muscular build. Most of her height is from her torso, which is slightly longer than average. Her chest is smaller though still present - a result of her athletic lifestyle. Her upper body is slightly more developed muscularly than her lower, though overall she has a fairly balanced physique.
::what I'm thinking
likes: Firebending, cooking, pro bending, reading, intelligent conversation, the spiciest food she can possibly find
dislikes: Chaos, losing her temper, accidentally setting things on fire, bugs
sexuality: Heterosexual
overall personality:
For the most part, Daiyu's personality is the opposite of that of many firebenders. She is calm, rational, and easygoing. While she enjoys debating, she rarely argues and instead will try to patiently reason with someone. There are times, however, where this carefully built demeanor shatters, and Daiyu's temper appears to remind everyone that she is indeed a firebender. When she is upset by someone or something, it's wisest to steer clear for a while. She has a subtle, dry humor, and while she is friendly to most she is close to few. Daiyu typically prefers to keep her thoughts and feelings to herself. This is not because she's necessarily distrustful - instead, she simply prefers to take her time in getting to know those around her and in turn allowing them to know her.
::a past to remember
Daiyu is the third of seven children and the oldest daughter in the Luó family. She grew up in a decently-sized Fire Nation village, where she was raised well despite her family's typically dismal financial situation. Both her father and paternal grandfather were firebenders in the Fire Nation's military, with the latter serving during the war. Because of her family's militaristic background, Daiyu and her siblings (four of whom also being firebenders) were trained in bending from a young age by their father and grandfather. Although initially Daiyu showed little promise in the area, as she grew older and gained more control over her bending she began to rapidly excel. Once she was fifteen, she was able to best both of her two older brothers, Guiren and Huojin. The three spent almost all of their free time as teenagers practicing bending with one another. Daiyu's mother, however, was a non-bender who put great emphasis on a strong education and lady-like sophistication. Because of this, Daiyu and her siblings were always taught the value of critical thinking and carrying themselves in a distinguished manner. What little money the family had was always put toward the children receiving the best education they had access to.
Once she reached adulthood, Daiyu felt it was time to leave the Fire Nation behind. Guiren and Huojin had already left and joined the military, as their father had made it clear was expected of them, but Daiyu had her sights on something different. Her family helped her gather enough belongings to last her long enough to get to Republic City, where she has been living for the last few months. She found employment at a restaurant specializing in Fire Nation cuisine, where she works as an assistant chef. Daiyu has discovered a love for pro bending, and though she has dabbled with the thought of attempting to find a place on a team, thus far this has been nothing more than a secret idea.
