Araxi Tsuou
name: Araxi
gender: Female
age: 26
element: Water
animal companion: None
::looking pretty good
hair color: Brunette
eye color: Dark green-blue
skin color: Lightly tanned
overall appearance:
Araxi’s hair is often cut choppy and pulled up into a wild bun at the back of her skull. Her bangs, however, never fail to escape and frame the sides of her face. She has a hardened appearance to her, though she still manages to retain some feminine charm beneath this. Rarely will one see Araxi’s lips turn up in a smile, for she spends too much time deep in thought. Her dark eyes are intense, and there are times where it feels like she can see right through you.
Standing at a pretty average height of 5’4”, Araxi is solidly built. While there is not an ounce of fat to be found on her figure, she still manages to weigh in at an impressive 140 lbs. Her musculature is not obnoxious, but it is noticeable when she moves. Araxi possesses a natural power which might bring to mind an animal, her composure and fluid movement speaking far more than her voice ever will. If one wants to get to know this Water Bender, one must learn to watch her.
She wears a lot of browns and metal, as if trying to hide what she is and blend in to her environment. In a sad contrast to what the colors she wears say, she carries with her at all times her bow and a quiver of arrows, as well as a small dagger sheathed at the small of her back.

overall personality: Araxi is… Well she is interesting for a Water Bender. While many who share this trait with her are rational people, she can be a little wild at times. Despite her age, she still finds great entertainment in activity and play. She has the heart of someone eight years her junior, and she has no problem acting whatever age she happens to feel like at any given time. She is, however, very secretive about personal matters. While she may be friendly she isn’t one to let you know if something is up. She would rather just deal with it herself than burden others. Her actions speak louder than her words do, and though she may not want to let anyone know when something is bothering her, she will occasionally give it away with her expressions or actions. She dislikes letting people know, because she fears they may see it as a weakness. Rather than be seen as weak and incapable, she’d take a full lifetime of silent suffering. She had enough of feeling weak when she had no choice, and now that she’s got a say Araxi doesn’t want anyone to think for even a second that she needs help.
On the other hand though, she’d do anything to help a friend in need. Araxi is perhaps one of the most loyal people you will ever meet, and if she considers you a friend it’s for life. Nothing a friend does to her could ever drive her away. She may be hurt or angered, but always she forgives and tries to make peace with them. This peaceful, forgiving nature applies only to friends though. Strangers be wary of crossing her for she won’t let you ever forget it.
She fears very little, and will never back down from a challenge once it’s been issued. Her pride alone refuses to allow such a thing. While she might be a pleasant person to hang out with, Araxi has issues in her own right. She dislikes getting attached to people, because she is certain they will leave her when she most needs them. She usually tries to limit how close she gets to her friends, so that she never needs to rely too heavily on them for anything, and so when they do decide to cut ties, it won’t be so bad.
::a past to remember
Araxi was born to a Southern Water Tribe, but she didn’t spend long there. Her birthplace suffered from frequent raids of slavers, and one just so happened to come through when she was seven. They immediately grabbed up the young Bender, along with any others who could control an element in the tribe, and whisked them away to a local ‘camp’ where they held the newest additions and sought out buyers. The place was barren, no water or plant life to be found, pure and simple stone constructed the holding pens, where groups which varied in number between five and ten were kept. Araxi was kept with one other girl who was close to her own age, and three older men from another tribe. Four months were spent in captivity there, before Araxi was shipped away in a metal crate.
Her new home was far away, and in the Fire Nation. Adjusting to life as a servant was hard, to say the very least. Somehow though, Araxi managed to do alright. She wasn’t beaten too often, she wasn’t mistreated or sold off. She had it alright, for a slave. Her master even decided it would be entertaining for his Water Bending pet to be able to do tricks, and bought a slave who knew how to Bend. He became a mentor to Araxi, teaching her his art and in the hours when there was no one to observe, he imparted other knowledge to his young pupil. He told her of other places, of freedom, and he told her that someday she would need to escape. Her life was not meant to be caged, nor was a creature of her birth meant to be turned into a circus pet, performing tricks on command. He trained her not only how to do pretty things to entertain her master, but how to fight. He taught her to protect herself, and to show the world no mercy. He took her malleable mind and formed it into something which would survive no matter what.
He taught her for three years, and when her master decided she had learned enough, and perhaps too much, he had the man killed before her eyes. A reminder, she was told, of her place. She was expendable if ever she proved herself beyond use. She made note and took to heart what she had seen.
She spent the next few years of her life being a pet and doing tricks on command, all the while waiting jut as she had been told once before for the perfect moment. It came, when her master decided to move. He took all his slaves with him, and headed for Republic City. He purchased a home within the city walls, and started to get himself settled in, surrounded by the servants he brought with him. In the initial disorganization of the move, Araxi took her chance and broke free. She made a mad dash down the streets and through the bustling city and finally found refuge in the docks. She was able to escape with water bending, and when she set her feet on ground next, she was a free woman.
Araxi fled deep into the Earth Kingdom and took up a life in a small village. Everything was great for her, until she had the strangest urge. She wanted to travel. To leave the peaceful home she had made and find something more satisfying…
