IRA AZARIATH
name: Ira Azariath
gender: Female
age: Twenty-nine years
element: Fire and lightning
animal companion: --
::looking pretty good
hair color: Dark brown
eye color: Golden
skin color: Pale
overall appearance: At first glance, there’s nothing special about Ira as she looks like any other Fire Nation citizen. Standing at 5’8”, Ira is somewhat tall for her age, and her build is muscular, given the three years she’s been living on the streets and the physical aspect of her fire bending training.
When you take a closer look at Ira, the first thing you will most likely notice about her, is the scar that is placed just below her right eye. As for the rest of her appearance, Ira has dark brown hair that reaches down to just below her shoulders. However, she usually wears it up in a top knot so it won’t get in the way when she’s out and about. Her eyes are a shade of golden that’s very common to the fire nation, and her skin is pale, despite her childhood spend in the village.
Based on her clothes, one would never be able to guess that Ira is from the fire nation as she has chosen the robes of the air acolytes over the traditional red and brown shades of fire nation clothes, and will only rarely be seen wearing any other kind of clothing.

likes: herbal tea, meditating, reading, sunny weather,
dislikes: judgemental people, loud people, kids, cold weather, rain
sexuality: Bisexual
overall personality: Ira is really a very two-sided person when it comes to personality. She usually doesn’t display many emotions, and is very hard to get excited about anything, but once you get past that, you’ll see a person, who’s kind and loyal to those close to her. If you manage to earn Ira’s friendship, there’s nothing she won’t do for you.
Ira, having dedicated her life to learning the ways of the air nomads, is usually a quiet, reflective person, but underneath this calmness burns the temper of a fire bender, and depending on the situation, it can take very little to set off.
Given her teenage years spend on the streets of Republic City and the life in the small village, Ira is really quite a lonely person. However, whenever people try to get close to her, she ends up pushing them away because of her fear of what they will think of her when they really get to know her.
::a past to remember
Ira was born as the oldest out of five to two non-benders in a small fire nation village, and soon after, the twins followed. After that, Ira’s mother gave birth to another girl and a boy, and the girl worshipped her older sister from day one. The two of them grew up to be very close, and they did everything together.
The village in which Ira and her family lived is populated only by non-benders, so when Ira’s fire bending first showed itself when she was five years old, it was a shock to everyone in the village. Ira’s fire bending also posed a big problem as there was no one in the village who could teach her. The only other fire bender in the village, Ira’s grandfather, had passed away long before Ira was even born.
Because of her lack of control over her fire bending, Ira would often end up burning things when she was angry and this was what was really the beginning of her problems. The other people in the village started avoiding her because they were afraid of what she could do to them or to their children, and while it was never said out loud, Ira became an outcast.
She kept mostly to herself, and for a while, everything was fine again. However, the peace and tranquillity didn’t last forever. As she grew older, she began to notice that she wasn’t only different because of her fire bending, there were other things too.
There was this other girl in the village that had the strangest effect on the now thirteen year old fire bender. Whenever this girl was near Ira, she could feel her hands get sweaty and her heart begin to race, and when she finally gathered the courage to tell this girl how she felt about her, it didn’t go down well at all.
People began talking in the village, and this was just the push that send Ira over the edge and caused her to run away from home. One night, she left a note for her parents and siblings, explaining her actions and then she left with one destination in mind: Republic City.
As naive as it was, the young fire bender thought for sure that things would turn out for the better when she got to the big city, but she was wrong. Oh so very wrong. The first three years of her life in Republic City, she lived on the streets, fighting for survival every single day. No one in the city cared one bit for the young girl, and Ira quickly learned to put herself and her own needs before everything else.
This was her life up until she was sixteen. At this age, Ira met a person who would turn out to be someone very important. The person was an odler lady who was a one of the air acolytes, and a fire bender too. She offered Ira a place with the air acolytes, and that she would teach the young girl more about her fire bending. Of course Ira could not possibly say no to the older woman.
This was her one chance to get off the streets and make a decent life for herself, so she wasn’t going to just throw it away like that. She moved to Air Temple Island where she immediately started her fire bending training, and this is what her life’s been ever since that.
