Leah Ann Shuta Birds began to chirp along the trails of the isolated park of Republic City as early morning joggers moved about. The rays of sun were just starting to come over the mountains to the east and the western night sky was slowly brightening up. Shops were just starting to open in the city and the sound of vehicles moving about brought the city to life. The ponds and creeks that naturally came in the park made a soothing sound and fish moved about happily among themselves, not to worry about anything other than the possible fisherman, but that was rare in this park, as it was forbidden to fish here. A few cats moved among the bushes, looking for any scraps that a vagabond might have left from one of his commonly known garbage meals.
The city was alive and with this hustle and bustle morning coming together, one being in particular walked along the park, trailed by a rather large Polar Dog that held a beautiful crafted watertribe collar. The woman was beautiful, her long black hair braided down her back, nearly reaching her hips. Her torso was covered in a light blue, long sleeve shirt that was fitted nicely among her body. Her legs had a slightly bagger set of blue pants on them made from traditional southern water tribe people. She had only recently come back from visiting her family down there and she had managed to get quite a few new wardrobes.
As she finally made it to a nice patch of water next to the pond, she found herself sitting down and waterbending slightly, making the water take on some shapes before letting it fall. She had not seen many of her friends since coming back and she wanted to talk to them about getting together a probending team.

Finally some fresh air; being cooped up in the house became nauseating. Who wants to sit and drink in stale air when it was beautiful outside? Well the beauty starts and ends in Republic City Park; it's a miniature getaway from the lack of elbow room when strolling throughout the busy parts of Republic City. Also with the police alarms going off, Ty-Lien better stick with her chances and stay here for the time being until the chaos of who knows what passes.
After walking around for a few minutes, Ty-Lien finally found a spot near the lake; most of the benches were taken up, and the teen wasn't so fond in sharing her space with a flock of Coon-squirrels that a little old lad was amusing herself to feed. If anything she didn't wanted to be disturbed by pesky paws as she reads up on her studies. Lately Ty-Lien been a bookworm; her small round face would be tucked in the bosom of pages. A few times it got the best of her by bumping into people as she walked.
At least now sitting in the park, she wasn't endangering anyone specifically. Sitting Indian style, she brushed her sage green pants that were tucked in a pair of black knee high boots. As she hunched over to read, her green oriental right buttoned top ruffled over to accommodate her. The off-shore breeze tousled her short hair, while flipping her pages. With her book on Mystical Consciousness, she wasn't getting much inner peace as her pages kept on changing as the jester, the wind, kept on playing with her.
"And one would think being outside is good for you," she growled lowly before tucking her book in her sling back-pack. Her brown chocolate eyes blinked after hallucinating a blur of a mass of white in her peripheral vision, "Was that...a polar bear...?

Leah Ann Shuta Leah Ann watched as her Polar Dog swam in the shallow waters of the park and she kept a careful eye out for any trouble that might come around. She did not want her first week back in the city to full of trouble. Koda was having such a fun time in the water before he came out and was about the shake. Koda, no!”
The animal stopped, dripping wet. With her careful waterbending, she brought nearly every bit of water from the dogs fur and threw it on the flowers so they would get some water. ”There… Now, lay down and rest girl.” She said before she felt eyes lingering on the two of them. She was not sure if they were or not, but the feeling was there and she found herself looking around for a moment before she saw someone looking towards them. They did not seem like trouble, but she was not sure if she wanted to find out if they were trouble or not. She just sat where she was, watching the wind move over the water carefully and the sun caused it to shine as it got higher into the morning sky. With so many benders and non-benders in the city, she found it easy to have anyone watching, especially those who were non-benders. Either they loathed the benders or they found them fascinating. The person watching was a women and she seemed to have a book with her in a bag, but even Leah Ann was unsure. She was focused a lot on the now sleeping Koda and the waterbender was slightly worried as to why. Polar Dog were beautiful creatures and used for pets, but some people also admired their fur a little too much. As she sat there, keeping an eye carefully on the woman before she grabbed a treat out of her bag for Koda. ”Koda.” Her voice was at a whisper. ”Why don’t you go and meet our friend over there.” The dog looked towards the woman and before Leah Ann could say anything he jumped into the water, going away from the woman, but was soon heading back to shore and towards the woman. It was all an act they had worked on years ago. ”Koda!” Leah stood up and ran over toward where the dog was going and stopped as she got to the woman. It was a good way to make friends too. Already her curiosity got the best of her as her face scrunched up in wonder. Why on earth would a Polarbear Dog of call creatures being doing over here. One would suspect to find them high up north or south in the poles. Her eyes drifted over towards its owner, and her observing nature already solved some of her questions. Seeing how she had a Polarbear Dog, she either just came from one of the opposite water tribes or was one of those people who'd like to import exotic animals; she knocked down the later once looking over her attire. Unfortunately she hardly studied up on her geography to distinctively spot the differences in Northern and Southern water tribe culture to figure out which region she was from.
Curiosity led to awkwardness. How long were they staring at each other? Ty-Lien rule of thumb was staring for over ten seconds was enough to be qualified as a creeper or down right rude. At least she had a reasoning, there was a bear dog thing in Republic City of all places. Hopefully the water tribe girl had more control of the dog in Ty-Lien's concern. Once grasping herself control, she tore her eyes away to focus on something else. Was it too late to feign business in her book?
I'll have to pick this up anyways...
Her attention was slowly drawn away by the sound of obnoxious splashing. Her body tensed lightly seeing it was the large dog playing in the lake, but it nearly rendered her stiff once the blasted beast started galloping her way. For an animal with a face of a dog, it truly ran with its weight thrown into it like a bear. Since childhood, she was always told, 'do not approach other people's pet without permission. You may never know their disposition.'
That thing's going to maul me, already panicked made her shuffle in place to find her feet and ground as she struggled to stand up to get some distance. By the time she rose, the animal was only a few paces away. Backing up with hesitation, her arms rose up to yield, "Niiice bear dog..thing."

Leah Ann Shuta As Leah Ann watched the girl slightly, she quickly removed her eyes from them and she found it rather amusing. The girl seemed to not want to stare, but the sight of the large polar dog, which was not nearly as big as a Polar Bear Dog would draw some attention. As the young waterbender though over how to introduce herself to the lady, she messed with the southern water tribe collar that was around Koda’s thick neck. As she looked back at the girl, she watched her for a moment, though it was rather hard with some things in the way like a few bushes, but she saw enough to know she was bring out a book for her to read.
As Koda went into the water and then towards the girl, Leah Ann saw the tension and her voice deepened as she got closer. ”Koda, Stop & Lay Down.”
The large polar dog was quick to stop and instantly lay down, wagging his tail all the same. Leah finally made it over to her dog and the girl as she heard the sound of the other’s voice. “Ni-i-ice bear dog… thing.” She could not help but chuckle slightly. ”Polar Dog… Polar Bear Dogs are much bigger than Koda… Sorry about that, he gets excited when he sees new people.” She said, looking down at Koda before pulling out a treat from her pocket and holding it up for him to see. She threw it to the water and it splashed lightly before the dog turned and ran towards the water, jumping in quickly. ”I’m Leah Ann.” She said, holding out her hand for a hand shake. She hoped that the girl was okay, she had not meant to frighten her, though most people knew that Polar dogs were friendly and pets, while Polar Bear Dogs were much larger and harder to train to be a pet, though it was heard that the Avatar had a polar bear dog as both her pet and transport. Some people saw her running across the icy tundra of the southern pole. [/blockquote] Word Count: 0.349 Tagged: Ty-Lien Chueng Song: None Status: Done/Open

"Polar dog," she was corrected, and her narrow brown eyes blinked in embarrassment with a tint of pink to her cheeks. She was a step away from being the girl who cried POLAR BEAR DOG! Now she wished she had a hole to crawl up in and rot for her sheer stupidity and assumption. A hand ran up to cover her flushed face before it swiped back to pull her hair back. She let out a chuckle to slacken her discomfort, "How silly of me."
Perhaps she should take more interest in traveling the world, border to border, country to country for she won't look as foolish and become well-versed with the countries. The only other lands except the Republic City she’d been to was the Earth Kingdom; her family visits it from time to time, mainly only holidays and planned weekends, to visit family members who never left the Ancient City of Ba Sing Se. She’d love looking at the old designs of the Kiyoshi Warriors; she had them to thank for inspiring a backbone in her whether she was a bender or not. Unfortunately her interest was captivated by another, which robbed her of other interests and opportunities. Call her a borderline workaholic. Luckily the polar dog brought her blessing along with humbleness; a hand was stretched out to her with a name. Maybe she wouldn’t bask in complete solitude.
"Ty-Lien," she replied. A bit more relaxed her hand dropped to shake the offering one, "I take it you're from one of the water tribes, but frankly I really can't tell which. Then again I’d never been able to visit any of them, yet I know no one there."
Her eyes drifted back towards the playful polar dog, who splashed like a babe in the lake while munching on a treat that was thrown to humor him. Watching him she presumed him not to be half-bad; she never had a pet thanks to the infliction in the household called allergies; luckily fate spared her of that.

Leah Ann Shuta "Polar dog." Leah Ann nodded as the girl repeated herself and as she got close enough looked over at the water where Koda was playing and enjoying himself. The plan had worked, Leah now had something to do, but she did not mean to scare the poor girl out of her sock. As things seemed to settle down, including the tension Leah used her waterbending and snatch the treat away before Koda could eat it and throw it somewhere to make him work for it. ”How silly of me.” Leah looked at her and chuckled slightly. ”It is not a uncommon mistake for people who do not know about either or have only hear about them. Just remember that Polar Bear Dogs are VERY big and look like they can be ridden by you… Polar Dogs are just big, but not big enough to transport anyone but a toddler on their back.”
She said. Koda soon matched up beside her, treat in mouth and laid down at her feet. He only stood about as high as just over her knee, which was the size of any large dog and his face was big. He stood, whimpering slightly. She smiled as she realized he wanted to be dry and she carefully bent the water from his coat and sent it back into the lake. "Ty-Lien." Leah smiled at the girl and nodded in greeting to her after they shook hands. ”I take it you're from one of the water tribes, but frankly I really can't tell which. Then again I’d never been able to visit any of them, yet I know no one there.” Leah laughed slightly and nodded. ”Southern Watertribe actually… I have family down their so I try and travel down their every chance I get... But, it is good to be back here, but it seems most of my friends have gone missing somewhere in this city, so I have been alone the past couple of days in our apartment. Either they went to visit places or they are just ignoring me." Leah did not seem to think twice about either idea. Subconsciously, she rubbed the scar on her right cheek, a normal habit that came when around anyone or by herself. It was like she was remembering why she was tough and chose to stay tough. It was also why she chose to stay away from idiot thugs and protect others from them. [/blockquote] Word Count: 0.404 Tagged: Ty-Lien Chueng Song: None Status: Done/Open
