animal companion: Kai's companion is a Koala Otter named Tsa. It's got the head of a Koala and the body of an Otter, which pretty much makes it the cutest animal ever. Besides Fire Ferrets. Cuz Fire Ferrets are pretty darn cute. Just saying.

overall appearance: Kai stands about six feet tall. He is lean. What muscle he has, he got from surfing the beaches of the world. He wears a fur-lined cut-off vest from the Southern Water Tribe, and shorts that travel past his knees. He wears his hair down, defying Water Tribe traditions. This, along with his slightly soft facial features gives him an androgynous appearance.

likes: Kai loves surfing. He has traveled to most of the world's most famous beaches on his quest to find the perfect surf-spot. He also loves spending time outdoors away from the beach.[/blockquote][/size]
dislikes: Kai hates staying in one place too long. Unless there's a very good reason, he will never stay in the same place for more than a month or two. Also frogs. Kai hates frogs. It's a touchy subject, and he won't tell anybody exactly why he hates them. He just does, okay?
sexuality: Whatever-sexual. Kai likes what he likes. He does have issues with attachment though, so he never stays with one person long, except in special circumstances.
overall personality: Kai seems pretty aloof at times, but it's just a front. In actuality, he's as excitable as a little kid in a candy store if you ask him the right questions. Most of the time, he's pretty easygoing. Kai will put things off to the very last minute if he can get away with it. His life motto is, "I'd rather be surfing." He tries to live as devoid of responsibility as possible.

Kai was born in the Southern Water Tribe settlement to a family of water benders. By the age of 10, he had discovered his own talent. By the age of 15, he had almost achieved the rank of master. Kai became disillusioned with the Water Tribe's practices, though, when he learned of the many responsibilities of a master bender. Preferring instead to live (and surf) on his own terms, Kai left the Water Tribe to become a nomad of sorts. During his travels, Kai sought out the best surfing spots in the world, wandering from the beaches of Republic City to the remote Kyoshi Island. While visiting the Northern Water Tribes to participate in the biannual Polar Bear Dog Swim, he met a young Koala Otter who took a liking to him. He named it Tsa and smuggled it out of the North Pole with him.
During his travels, Kai became aware of his ambiguous sexuality. He started experimenting sexually with girls and boys, earning him a bad reputation among the smaller, less sexually sophisticated colonies. Along with his search for the perfect surf-spot, Kai has taken it upon himself to find "The One," which he swears he'll know when he meets him/her. He hasn't met him/her yet, so until he does, he has decided to remain sexually inclusive.
