Keno stands rather tall for his age and as if height were not enough years of training has earned him a hard body with a muscular yet lean build with almost no body fat to speak of. His honey colored eyes give Keno and sweet and gentle appearance betraying his short temper and family line that is meant to strike fear and assert dominance. Both Keno's ears are pierced with ruby studs. His clothing is a mix of the new modern times and the older threads of the Fire Nation to keep true to the heritage he is proud of.

Keno is mostly a loner, his family has practically driven him to it. Unsure of which path to take Keno tries to be kind to all he meets but he knows what is expected of him and thus can be distant or unnecessarily cruel at times. Being a frebender is something that Keno is greatly proud of but at the same time he is equally embarrassed that they had started the Hundred Year War. Anger is a big problem for Keno as well, being that his family wishes to bring the Firebenders back to their former "glory" and Keno's uncertainty if he wants the same he has been keeping much bottled up for years; it is now becoming too much to hold in and he often snaps and the tiniest frustrations.

Twenty years before Keno's birth there was a movement within the Fire Nation with rebel Firebenders. After the Hundred Year War and Avatar Aang along with Firelord Zuko created peace and forged the Republic of Nations through that peace, firebenders who wished to once again dominate all nations created a secret movement called the Phoenix Claw. Keno's parents joined the movement late in their teens and have been members ever since feeling that peace is but an illusion if there is no one ruling, and the only one fit to rule is a Firebender.
They built a reputation for themselves as good people living good lives as they amassed wealth through legal as well as illegal ways, much of their fortune feeding into the Phoenix Claw. Since birth Keno, as well as his brother (Basco) and sister (Zyiro), was trained and conditioned to seek Firebending supremacy and help restore them to what the Fire Nation once was. However for all his family's pushing Keno isn't sure if he agrees with their views and actions. He does love being a firebending and the Fire nation and there are aspects of the past during the HYW that he appreciates, but he does not wish to condone such evils as committed by Firelord Ozai and this new secret organization.
He is a confused teen who knows that sooner or later he will have to make a choice. Keno just isn't sure which choice he'll make and if it'll be right.
