In Narye's mind, eons had passed since the last time he had kissed a woman, or anyone for that matter. He had forgotten how soft and warm the lips a woman were, and how it sent tingles up and down his spine. Every moment and every movement sent a wave of warmth through him or a shock of electricity. The way she tried to bring herself closer to his lips, on her toes, warmed his spirit. The way she wrapped her fingers in his hair seemed primal and wanting. Everything made him not want to stop.
But of course they had to end it at some point, for breath or a chance to recollect their thoughts. His lips still tingled with Saaga's heat even after she pulled away in silence. The heat showed on Narye's cheeks as well, though it might have been more difficult to spot on his darker skin.
Even though he was the one to initiate the kiss, he also found himself at a loss for words. There were way too many things going through his mind. All of them were about the same question: What to do next? Part of him wanted to continue the kiss, perhaps go a little further while they were alone in the park. Another part of him wanted to let Saaga go, to let her sort out any thoughts she may have.
After he glanced up from Saaga's beautiful face, a thought came to his own mind.
"Um... My home isn't too far away from here... Would you like to go there?"
The suggestion seemed to be the nice middle ground of all his thoughts. It gave Saaga a chance to think and perhaps decide to go on her way, and it gave them somewhere much more private should things go further.

It would have been an understatement to say that Saaga’s thoughts were a jumbled mess. Slowly she managed to untangle her fingers from Narye’s hair and land on her feet, this accompanied by the sound of her wooden heels on the gravel. She looked at him and turned her gaze away not knowing whether she should have felt embarrassed or burst out laughing by the absurdity of what she’d done. She wasn’t in the habit of going around kissing men since it went against everything she’d been taught as a child. But strangely enough, now that she’d done it she felt oddly liberated.
She had always hated being tied down by traditions, in no small part thanks to her parents who had given her a taste of freedom when she was a child and then yanked her back on the leash once she’d started maturing. If they had gotten their way she’d have been married off to someone or even more likely lived her life as spinster. Yet even after she’d come to Republic City, she tied herself down with those traditions she hated. And now she had taken a step to breaking free and nothing had changed. The earth had not crumbled from under her feet and the stars had not fallen out of the sky. When Narye suggested they go over to his place, Saaga did not really pause to think about her choices. Going home was not really an option for her and with the kiss all her higher brain functions seemed to have flown out of the nest. She smiled at him and then reached up to give him a quick kiss, though due to her short stature she did not manage to land it on his lips.
“All right. Let’s go then,” she answered and pulled away from the embrace to take his hand in hers.

Her attempt at a kiss was adorable, and a little funny, but she did manage to at least kiss his lower lip and not his chin or neck or something. The move had him chuckling as she took his hand. The lack of hesitation in her answer was encouraging to Narye. It meant that perhaps the last barrier, or one of the last barriers, had come down and she was now fully comfortable with him.
"If you had given me a moment, I could've leaned down and actually let you kiss me there."
With a big old grin, Narye let go of her hand, only to swoop down on her and pick her up in his arms. To him, she was a very light girl and hoisting her up like that was almost no trouble at all. At that height, it was easy for him give her a return peck on the lips while he walked down the path to his home. Feeling a bit more fun, he gave Saaga another ride as he spun around once while still carrying her.
Of course even Narye couldn't keep that up forever, and as they neared his home, he let Saaga down onto her own feet. It hadn't been a long journey, through the park and down the sidewalk in the night. Playing the part of the gentleman, he opened the door for Saaga to enter.
Narye's home was a simple affair, basically a first floor apartment suite. For a home in the City, it was very nice and clean and surprisingly large. It looked big enough to be a family home. Coming up behind her, Narye wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed his front into her back. His hand was open and pressed gently against her stomach.
"So what do you think? Up to your standards?"

The short trip to Narye’s home was entertaining to say the least. Saaga had never been carried princess-style like that and with the swooping the spinning she thought she’d woken the whole neighborhood with her laughter and surprised yells. Though with such close proximity to the Fairgrounds, it was easy to make the assumption that many people from the block had gone to the masquerade party. At least that was what Saaga hoped for. She had no delusions about her voice; at times she could be very loud.
She was glad to be back on her own two feet when Narye let her down and she walked the rest of the way taking in the sights. Even at night it seemed like a pretty good neighborhood. She could not hear any sounds of violence or drunkards, though of course that didn’t mean there weren’t any. The neighborhood she lived in was part of bath house district and most of the establishments were open through the night. There was never any shortage of loud noises and weird people.
When he let her into his apartment Saaga took off her sandals and only then stopped to look at the interior. Compared to what she’d gotten used to over the years the place might as well have been a palace.
She lived in a single room apartment with five other people in the sixth floor of an old building that desperately required for new plumbing. They didn’t have their own bathroom, but luckily there was no shortage of bath houses in the area. She would have moved out long ago if the rent wasn’t so cheap and she didn’t have such a desperate need to save whatever money she earned.
Next to her Narye might as well have been a rich tycoon or something. When he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, Saaga placed her hand on his, drawing circles on his knuckles absent mindedly.
“Hah, you wouldn’t even ask that if you knew how I lived. It’s great,” she replied to him, laughing and turned her head to look at him.
“You want to give me a tour?”
From what she could see of the apartment, it looked to be very well kept and clean. She felt a twinge of embarrassment when she thought of how messy her home could get from time to time.

Narye planted a few small kisses on the side of Saaga's neck before unlocking his arms from around her and coming around her front. He gestured to the room in front of them.
"Well, to start, this is the living room. I don't really have the time to spend time here lately."
In a pattern to follow with the rest of the home, the living room was decidedly more modern than traditional. The radio looked especially recent. However, the entire room didn't look like it had been lived-in for awhile. For the most part, Narye preferred to hang out about the City and really only stayed in the house when he needed to.
He moved further into the apartment, looking a little ill at ease when they approached the kitchen and the dining area.
"Here's the dining room and over there's the kitchen. Sorry about the way it looks."
Most of the dining table was covered with papers, scrolls, and books that pertained mostly to his classes and the assignments he gave to his students. He had recently had a period of projects and tests for the students so he was now inundated with things to grade and evaluate. That was part of being a teacher that most people forgot about. That the teacher had their own homework. As for the kitchen, it showed some dirty dishes in the sink, another side effect of having to spend a lot of his time grading.
"I really would have cleaned-up if I knew I'd have a guest over. Hope you don't mind."
Saaga was lead down the hallway, to one side the bathroom door was open so she could get a glance inside. It was surprisingly clean since Narye was a stickler for that kind of thing in the bathroom. The tour ended up with Narye gently pushing open a door to the bedroom. The bed was a very large one, easily enough for two people.
"And, of course, this is the bedroom..."
Narye was too tempted. He came up behind Saaga again and placed his hands on her hips, drawing her against him and lowering his lips to her ear.
"...It's been kind of empty for awhile..."

Saaga looked around the living room and noticing the radio, she smiled approvingly. Of course she did not own one herself, but she did not waste any opportunity to listen to one. When she worked the register at the Glass Emporium she often tuned in to listen to the music hour, even though she knew her boss disliked the sound of modern music. At least she usually had the courtesy of waiting for him to get out of the shop.
She followed Narye into the dining area and went over to the table to take a closer look. She did not touch anything (she wasn’t that rude), but she was certainly curious about all the papers and scrolls scattered about. She had never really paused to think that a teacher’s job might follow him home at times. She was also sort of relieved that he wasn’t some neurotic neat-freak, as witnessed by the unwashed dishes in the kitchen sink. His worry over her opinion about it was also rather sweet.
“Oh don’t worry about it. A home is supposed to look a little lived in,” she said to him reassuringly.
Besides, she was not in a position to criticize someone’s home, as her apartment was filled with all sorts of knick-knacks and clothes and pieces of glass for study purposes. And that was just counting her stuff. She did not feel comfortable staying at home for too long, mostly because the place was so overcrowded, in more ways than one.
The tour continued down the hallway and Saaga was secretly amazed that one person could live in such a spacious flat. She wondered how much it cost to live there, and whether he’d bought it or paid rent. She did not stop to ask about it though. Talk of money was an ugly pastime best suited for bankers and loan sharks.
At the bedroom door Saaga hesitated a little. The bed looked inviting and monstrous at the same time and she felt anxious about what to do or say next. On the one hand she kind of wanted to run, but there was also a part of her that wanted to see things through.
When he put his hands on her hips she calmed down slightly. His hands were so warm and when he talked his voice was soothing even if what he chose to say was a bit unnerving. There was a certain implication in what he said and after a moment of thinking she chose to ignore her nervousness and just go with the flow of things. It had worked well so far, right?
She turned to face him and without giving him much notice pulled him in for a kiss. After she pulled away she said: “It doesn’t have to be empty tonight.”
Having said it Saaga felt the redness from her cheeks spread out to her neck. She could not believe she’d actually said that. She knew she said a lot of things that were usually best left unsaid, but never like this. She would not blame him for finding her rather laughable.

The response that Saaga gave Narye was one of the best things he had heard all night, both the kiss and the words. As much as he didn't want to admit, out loud anyway, one of the things Narye had missed most was the... intimate company of a woman. He was an older gentleman, sure, and most of his wild oats had been sown while he was a young man, but his masculine urges and needs had yet to reach the point where they faded away completely. Though he doubted they would ever go away a hundred percent, no matter how much he aged.
Literally years had passed since there was this much physical intimacy in his bedroom, in his house even. It showed in the kiss. It was deeper, more passionate than the simply elegent one in the park. There was a hunger behind the kiss, a more carnal feel than before. His breath had become deeper and slightly more ragged after she pulled away.
For a moment, he just stared into her differently-colored eyes. He didn't find her laughable at all. Right at that moment, he found her desirable and sexy. If his need wasn't evident then, it would be plenty obvious when he pressed Saaga back up against him with his hands on her behind.
Narye lifted her up by the butt, lifting her off the ground and guiding her legs around his hips. He returned to the kiss, deeper and more heated than before and with tongue too.
Immediately he walked over to the bed and laid her down on her back. Holding himself up with his arms planted on the sheets, he continued to feast on her kisses, trailing up and down her neck. There was a moment's pause as he stood up and hurriedly removed his shirt, vest, and mask. But he was right back to, frankly, the making-out. By now his body was on fire and his breath was truly ragged in the heat of the moment. There was just enough reason left in him to pull back and look at Saaga.
"Are... Are you sure?"

When he didn’t do anything and just stared at her, Saaga thought she had perhaps said the wrong thing. She looked at him nervously thinking whether she should just take back what she’d said, when he pulled her close startling her into gasping surprised. It was a happy kind of surprise and made her feel much less foolish about herself.
She could feel a tingling warmth spread through her body when he picked her up and carried her towards the bed. She crossed her legs, wrapping them around him and pressed her upper body against his, swept away by his kiss. There was a moment of alarm when he slipped his tongue into her mouth, but after the initial shock she relaxed and started to get used to it. It was actually rather ironic that she should find herself in this position after she had fervently chastised people for similar behavior.
She could care less about it right now. Let her suffer the humiliation of hypocrisy at a better time, when she was not enthralled by the warmth of a body against hers.
When Narye laid her down on the bed, Saaga tore the feathered mask from her neck and flung it to the floor. She let him continue kissing her, while she fumbled with her obi frustrated at how hard it was to undo the blasted thing. After a moment it finally came off and using the moment where he took off his shirt and vest, she wriggled out of her yukata and linen underdress. She was happy to return to kissing, but then he pulled back.
The look on Saaga’s face was incredulous. Really? Right now? She was afraid she’d lose her resolve by his questioning.
“Yes. I am quite sure,” she answered, wrapping her arms around him tightly and going for another kiss.

There was nothing Narye could, or wanted, to say after she assured him that she was okay with where they were going. Mostly it was because she yanked him back into frantic, lusty kissing. There wasn't much that needed to be said after all considering the circumstances. From that point on, there was no way Narye could have not been touching Saaga in some way, whether it be their kissing or something... else. So while they made out like animals, Narye blindly fumbled at his belt.
"..."
Narye swung between giving Saaga everything she deserved, and more, or giving into the primal instincts that he had been neglecting for years. But either way, his experience in the matter afforded him enough time and know-how to do both.
By the time perdition, perhaps perditions, had been reached, Narye was left feeling light-headed, exhausted, sweaty, blissful, and like he hadn't known what rest feels like until then. In his arms he held onto Saaga, rubbing her back and helping her down from the high of the moment.
He couldn't find the breath to say anything other than gasp like a long distance runner nor could he muster the energy to do move more than the little motions he was making for Saaga's benefit. But he did turn his eyes towards her and, though the rest of him looked worn out, his eyes looked thankful and happy.

Afterwords she ached, like she’d run for a mile or two with no pauses and forgetting to stretch beforehand. Her skin felt sticky with drying sweat and white dots danced in her vision, circling from the corners to the centers of her eyes. And yet there was no feeling of disgust towards her current state. Frankly she was too exhausted to care right then and the warmth of the bed and the man beckoned her not to rise.
She felt drowsy and thoughts drifted lazily through her mind, only it didn’t feel like they were her thoughts at all, or her problem for that matter, not at that moment any way. There was work in the evening, she remembered. She needed to go home and change. A bath would have been nice. But all those things seemed unimportant and she could not find the will or the energy to get up. The festival could wait; it was still night after all.
With a deep sigh she buried her face into Narye’s chest her arm resting on his waist, closed her eyes and surrendered to sleep. She’d be better equipped to use her brain after she’d slept some of the buzz off. Sleep didn’t take a long time to snatch her away and soon she was breathing contently in his arms, dreaming of absolutely nothing.
[OOC: Sorry about the shockingly short post, but since we’re finishing up the thread I found very little to add.]
