Shun was impressed with how deftly she had gotten up in front of him. He was also turning redder by the moment as she positioned herself in front of him and put her good arm around him. His embarrassment was forgotten when she lit up a small flame above her finger. He couldn't resist the urge to point out the obvious. "Ah, your a fire bender. I bet if your arm wasn't all banged up you could a handled those chumps without my help."
He didn't know how good she was, but the way she had gotten up on Gou without any trouble at all showed that she was light on her feet. Once, she was settled he patted Gou, and the gorilla goat would take off with a bounding leap onto a building then start bounding across rooftops. Not a moment too soon either, since the cops arrived a few seconds after they took off.
To try to keep her from focusing on how fast they were going or, how high of the ground they were he continued to speak. "Well, I think the police force is mainly earth benders since it's the easiest element to bind someone with, along with metal. You have to carry water around and fire is a bit, well painful." He smiled at her compliment about his talent, but he didn't think he was all that great. "Thanks, it's good to meet you too. As for thanks there is no need. I have work around six thirty, so as much as I'd love to hang out with you I till need to get home...Well, perhaps you could help me."
"Lately work at the factory has been paying less and less, so if you know anyplace that pays well ad has good hours let me know." He gave her a tired, smile and since she was so close to him, she'd more than likely notice the bags under his eyes. He'd been operating at six hours of sleep, but fourteen hours of work a day with barely anything to show for it.

“There was ten of them,” she pointed out, “but I would have ran.” If she had had the benefit of both hands she would have tried doing the rocket out of there too, like the gang leader had but failed. At least in her case there would have been no goat ape to drag her out of the sky. “I’m only good at Pro Bending. I suck at real battles.” Thing which she was hoping to improve on with Chase’s help. The young firebender had seemed everything she was not when it came to real confrontation.
They crossed rooftops and she seemed to be enjoying the height, the breeze. She could do with a little bit more speed, however. Nothing beat Satomobiles and as a purebred Republic City dweller, she owned one. “Good point,” she accepted easily. Shun was smart too, he had all around potential, she thought. Especially considering how tall he was, she couldn’t quite remember the last time she had met someone quite so large. “The metalbenders carry their metal around, though.” She didn’t think it weighed more than a waterbender’s bending pouch.
He refused her proposition and as she looked to him, she could see the weariness in his face. “Six thirty? How awful.” Sazra hated mornings, it was the perfect time to sleep. Her job was done during the night, but she would be on injury leave for a few days. She quirked an eyebrow at his suggestion that she could help him and then nodded a little at the clarification. Well, Chase had turned her offer down, and she did owe Shun a favor, so she supposed she should mention a possible position.
“Well, if you can move boxes, tend to cleaning or do sums, there might be something you could do at my father’s fashion shop,” she mentioned, staring at the little flame on her finger. “You’ll be provided with a fancy uniform and everything,” she grinned a little. “If you just do cleaning and stacking, it might not be the best of pay… but the hours are decent and you get paid vacations.”

"Oh so your a pro bender. That must be pretty fun. I don't see how you can be bad at fighting though if your a probender. From the few matches I've seen or heard it looks like they could handle themselves in a fight." He tightened his grip on the leather strap as Gou gave a particularly strong leap over a street.
"Well, if you gotta remember all metal benders were earth benders before they learned metal bending." Truth be told he really wouldn't mind learning metal bending and become a cop, but that probably never happen. He was just a poor factory worker from the underground.
Her sympathy toward his working plight brought a smile to his face. "It's not that big a deal really. I'm used waking up early by now. It would be better if I didn't get paid only two yuans an hour though." Her offer for a job came out of the blue, but it was as if the spirits themselves had plopped a miracle down in front of him.
"I can do all of those things, though I have to know how much it pays, and if I can get Gou here a job too." He patted the beast who gave a happy grunt. "He doesn't have to be paid in yuans, but perhaps some animal feed wouldn't be out of the question? He's kinda hard to feed, since he eats so much." This job was exactly the thing he needed to get some rest and make some good money. There was no way it could pay less than three yuans an hour.

When Shun seemed incredulous about her difficulties with real battles when she was an excellent pro bender, Sazra couldn’t help but think he hadn’t had much experience with it. “It’s different. In pro bending, you have set rules, everyone has a limited supply of material they can work with, all attacks are brief and to some degree predictable,” she started explaining, the little flame on her finger held up lecturingly. “You can’t even produce attacks that last more than one second. It’s so much different from what people throw at you, ever so creatively, when you’re fighting for real.” Earthbenders couldn’t just crush you under a pair of walls in the arena, all they could do was pelt you with discs.
“What’s your point?” She tilted her head to the side, genuinely not connecting the dots. Thinking about metal bending she reminded herself she needed to learn to redirect lightning and maybe produce it. The idea frightened her. Storms were always such terrifying experiences. The thought of possessing that much power at her fingertips gave her goosebumps and the idea of letting a lightning bolt cross through her system made her pale.
“Well, if you can do sums you can be a vendor. That’ll get you seven yuans per hour, eight if you do really well in time.” It was the better position of the three and the one she would have opted for. She instinctively let out a laugh when he asked if Gou could be granted employment, the fire on her finger going out in her distraction, before she coughed in her palm upon realizing he was being serious. “Uh…err… I’m sorry but I don’t think so. People don’t usually employ animals… no offense Gou.” She patted him a little on the shoulder.
Sazra realized something. “Also, I suppose I should tell you where to drop me off…” She pointed in the distance, far right. “I live in the Tiger Flats District, a few blocks from here.” Lowering her arm gently, she considered something different. “Or you could let me down wherever, you don’t need to take me all the way home.”

"Ahh that would make fighting much harder, but safer though. That means I can't break their half of the ring and knock them all into the water. Perhaps you can show me how it's done sometime and I can show you how to fight for real." He smiled as she asked what the point was of metal benders being earth benders.
"My point is that metal benders can also bend the earth to restrain their targets. It is just easier to do with metal and less destructive to the surrounding area." He blinked as she said he could make eight yuans an hour. That was four times as much as he made now. Sure, he was a little disappointed that Gou couldn't get a job with him, but he'd still be making double their salary combined.
Gou grunted happily as she petted his shoulder as he ran across buildings. With a small pull on the reins he turned Gou in the direction of the district she lived in. It's ,y duty to see a lady home safely after she was accosted by a bunch of hooligans. It's one of the few lessons I remember my dad teaching me before he passed on."

Sazra blinked somewhat blankly. “No, you can’t break the platform.” Yeah, he was a complete beginner. How did she always run into these guys? Wasn’t there one person in this city who was already working towards a pro bending career? She sighed a little at his expansion on the matter of earth benders. “We were talking about why police officers are mainly earth benders and you brought up the thought that waterbenders would be less recommended because they carry around a water pouch. I deflected your argument with pointing at the earthbenders’ metal containers. Even if they could not have them, they still do. Oh, nevermind,” she chuckled. The matter really wasn’t that important to her and she never went around looking for debates. Thinking too much was tiresome.
The gorilla goat was redirected towards her home and she smiled, eyes shining briefly. “He sounds like he was a good man. I’m sorry for your loss.” Some sympathy colored her eyes in the end and she looked away. Although she had never lost a parent, her mother was so distant since her brother had passed that she may as well have. “Training together sounds good, though I’m no earthbender I know how they work in the arena, I could talk you through it.” She paused briefly to consider her whole ambition with pro bending, for the first time seriously wondering if it was the right path to take. “It will have to wait though,” she raised her injured arm a little and shrugged.
As buildings passed by, they came nearer and nearer to their destination. “When do you want to drop by the shop?” She looked to him, mind reeling back to the issue of his work. “It’s called Peo Fashion, just before the west bridge that leads into the park. “I can talk to my father about it tonight.”

He suppressed a yawn as he fought to stay awake."Sorry, I'm a bit tired so I'm having trouble forming a coherent thought. Fighting like that and getting my adrenaline up makes it worse after it comes back down." He would have loved to finish the discussion, but in his current state it would all be jumbled up and not make sense.
"Thank you I only wish I could remember more of both my parents." It always made him sad to know he'd never really know a lot about his parents. He was too young to really remember anything about them other than basic things.
He looked at her arm flinching in sympathy. "It must hurt a lot." He considered when would be a good time for him to come up there, but couldn't really think of any day where he was really free. "I'd love to come as soon as possible, but I can't really skip out on work. I need the money to keep the kids in the underground fed and keep them from stealing. Is there anyway I could meet your dad tonight and start working tomorrow? That way I can get out o that factory and make a decent wage."
