animal companion: A small bird with red and yellow feathers. A long tail that is 3 sizes longer than the bird itself. She has really shiny feathers and with a sunny day may looks a little like the bird is on fire from afar. Her name is Mika and she is about 6 years old. She can sing beautiful songs and usually sits on Akari her shoulder.

Akari has long black hair, usually pulled in twin-tails. Her eyes are green as grass and she has a light tan skin. She wears whatever she feels like wearing at the moment but most of the times she wears clothes from the earth kingdom. Akari her body is not really looking like a full grown woman. She is like most boys would say flat chested. Her face looks very young and you would not think she is already 18.

Akari is very cheerful and always seems happy. It would be rare to not see a smile on her face. When being sad or hurt she tries to hide it. When you first meet her she will be shy but when she knows you a little she will open up. She hates being bored so she mostly goes annoy other people when she is. Akari learned that all people have something good in them so she will always try to see the good side of someone.

Akari was born in a family no one ever would want. Her mother was always very kind but her father was the ope side. He was a fire bender and always loved the ideas of the fire lord. He thought low of every bender that did not fire bend and thought the world would be better off if the fire nation would rule the world. Akari's father always beat her mother up when she did something wrong. Akari was to young to remember anything of that time but what she did remember was that one day her father killed her mother before her eyes with his lightning bending. She did not know why but it happened. Akari could do nothing but stand there and cry. Her father told her to leave and never come back, and so she did. She got some clothes, food and water and left her home. She hated her father. Why did he kill her mother and why did she have to leave. She sworn to herself to never learn anything that had to do with lightning because she did not want to become like her father.
After a few days of traveling she arrived at a small city of the earth kingdom. A young woman came up to her asking what she was doing all alone so far from home. Akari told the story of her father with tears running down her face. The young woman hugged the small crying girl and took her arm, taking her to a house that would probably be the home of this woman. The Akari met a man. He was the husband of the young woman. They left Akari alone for a minute before coming back into the room. They asked her if she wanted to stay with them and so she did. They did not seem to care about the fact that Akari was a firebender. She grew up in this kind loving familie. The man she now saw as a father was a hard working earth bender and his wife was also an earth bender she always took care of Akari and the house, cooking dinner every day. Waiting for her husband to come home.
When Akari turned 12 she got a little red/yellow birth as a birthday present. She named it mika and took good care of it. When Akari turned 18 they moved to republic city. In this city was more work for earth benders. So it would be a better place for them to live.
